How to make Swirl Earrings with Copper Wire
These earrings may look complicated, but are easy to make yourself! With our large assortment of miyiki seed beads, you can make your own beautiful color combination!
Start by cutting off about 15cm of copper wire. Use the roundnose pliers to turn an eye on it and then use the flat pliers to fold the copper wire around it again. Thread a designer quality (DQ) round bead and bend the copper wire to the right. Leave about 1cm and bend a curve to the left. Now thread 1 DQ round bead, a 6/0 miyuki bead and another DQ round bead. Bend the copper wire again to the right and slightly diagonally upwards, so the beads stay in place. Bend it again to the left and thread the same 3 beads. Bend the wire to the right and keep about 1 cm. Turn an eye using the round pliers and wrap the remaining copper wire around itself about 4 times. Cut off the end and push the sharp point flat.
For the charms we use the stainless steel headpins. Keep 1 headpin the regular length, cut one 2cm shorter and the last one about 1cm shorter. Make an eye at the end and hook the 3 staples to the twisted eye with the wrapped piece. Hang the longest headpin in the middle.
Last, use a jumpring to attach the stainless steel earring stud 18K, to the top of the swirl piece. Make 1 more and your earrings are ready!
