How to make a Macramé Gemstone Necklace
This Cute necklace is easy to make yourself. With our large assortment of gemstones and S-lon, the most beautiful color combinations are possible!
Or check out the image with our handy step-by-step tutorial.
Start by cutting 4 pieces of S-lon 1.50m long. Then use 1 of these strands to make a loop smaller than where the stone fits through (see image 1). Now attach the other 3 strands to this loop (see pictures 2 and 3). Next, tie one right and one left strand together each time, until the stone fits completely inside the net. After the 1st row, the net will begin to form and bulge slightly. This is the intention and ensures that the stone will eventually fit.
When the net is ready, insert the stone and knot all the threads together. Now thread a wooden bead and divide the threads into 2 groups. Now tie a flat knot (see the video below for a flat knot). By inserting the thread on the same side underneath each time, the whole thing will twist. After about 2cm, thread a wooden bead and continue braiding until the necklace is long enough. Now make a sliding knot and burn the ends flat. And then the necklace is ready to be worn!
Used materials:
S-lon 0,5mm brown
Yellow Topaz gemstone
