Stainless Steel Chain Necklace
Do you dream of making your own unique jewelry, but don't know where to start? Then making a chain from a stainless steel chain with large links is a great way to express your creativity and create a beautiful, personal accessory. In this inspiration set, I give you a detailed step-by-step guide on how you can very simply make your own necklace from a meter-long oval jasseron chain, a chapel clasp and a cute charm in the middle!
Supplies
- Stainless steel chain of 1 meter
- Toggle Clasp gold or silver
- Charms (choose a charm that appeals to you personally: a star, a heart, a gemstone or a symbol that has meaning to you)
- Jewelry pliers or flat pliers
Step-By-Step
- Cut the jasseron chain to the desired length (1 meter in this case, but you can always adjust the length to your preference).
- Attach the chapter clasp to the end of the chain using a jumpring by passing the eyelet of the clasp through a link of the chain. Close the jumpring again with the pliers so that the chapter clasp hangs securely on the end of the chain. Repeat this process for the other end of the chain. You have now attached both ends of the chain to a chapter clasp.
- Open a jumpring using the round pliers. This is a small metal ring that you will attach to the clasp later. Attach the charm to the jumpring. If you have a charm with a small eye or loop, thread the jumpring through the eye of the charm. Place the jumpring through the center link of the chain. This allows you to place the charm exactly in the center of the chain. Close the jumpring securely with the pliers so that the charm hangs securely on the chain.
Handy! In this video, we show you how to add multiple charms to your new necklace yourself!
Now it's time to wear your necklace! The charm in the middle adds a personal touch to your necklace, while the stainless steel jasseron adds an elegant and timeless look. The beauty of this necklace is that you can customize it to your own style! Choose a charm that has meaning to you, or swap out charms for a different look.
