Wax Cord Necklace
This wax cord necklace with Lapis Lazuli is super easy to make yourself, in no time you'll be creating a new accessory to add to your outfit! We show you how to make this necklace in the video below.
Wrap Bracelet/Chain
1. Start by threading a pinch bead on a piece of nylon wire, and pinch it closed. Then bend a calotte over it and pinch it closed as well.
2. Next, thread the lapis lazuli beads onto the nylon wire. You can add a spacer bead here and there for a playful effect. Next, continue threading the beads the same way and finish the necklace again with a clasp, pinch bead and finally attach a chapter clasp to it.
3. Bend open a jumpring using flat-jaw pliers and attach the leaf charm to it. Thread the Lapis Lazuli beads onto the staple pins. Use the roundnosed pliers to make an eye on the staple pin. Cut off the excess metal if necessary.
4. Add the staple pins as additional decoration to the chapter clasp.
Handy! You can “wrap” this bracelet around your wrist because the chapter clasp makes it easy to attach to your own wrist. But the bracelet can also be used “unwrapped” as a necklace, nice and multifunctional!
Earrings
1. Choose 6mm point stones to fit the point stone earrings. Make sure the stones and earring base are clean of dirt and oil so the glue can adhere well.
2. Apply a small amount of jewelry glue into the setting of the pointed stone earring. Then carefully place the pointed stone into the setting, making sure the stone is centered and fits well. Then let the glue dry completely.
3. Choose the spacers you want to hang under the stud earring, I chose a Lapis Lazuli spacer, oval connectors like with the necklace and the same leaf charms used with the bracelet for a complete look.
4. Attach a jumpring to the lower part of the earring, use flat pliers to open the eyelet. Thus, attach the spacers one by one through the jumprings.
5. Repeat this process for the second earring to make a set.
Tips:
- Work carefully and with small amounts of glue to prevent the glue from overflowing or leaving visible spots on the point stone.
- If you want to personalize the earrings you can choose different inserts such as crystals, beads or other charms.
With these steps you will create stunning and special Lapis Lazuli jewelry that will complete any outfit!
