Step-By-Step
Necklace
1. Lay out the Tourmaline beads in the desired pattern, as shown in the reference photo. This helps you get an overview of what the necklace will look like and ensures that you don't skip any beads.
2. Cut a piece of c-lon thread, about one and a half times as long as the desired length of the necklace.
3. Attach a needle to one end of the thread for easier threading. Begin threading the beads according to the pattern. Alternate the Tourmaline beads with spacer beads.
4. Thread all the beads for the full base line of the necklace. Make sure the beads are evenly spaced and that enough thread remains at the end.
5. Attach a carabiner to the end of the strung wire using a snap bead. Use a jumpring or jig to connect the clasp to the c-lon wire.
6. Do not cut the wire yet, as it will be used again later.
7. If necessary, add a drop of jewelry glue to the clasp's pinch bead for extra strength. Let the glue dry completely before continuing.
8. Take the remaining piece of c-lon wire and begin threading back through the last threaded spacer bead.
9. Once you have threaded back through the last spacer bead, add 10 new tourmaline and spacer beads to the wire like the design in the reference photo above.
10. Thread back through the last bead of these 10 beads and pull the thread tight, so that the beads are neatly placed under each other.
11. Add 10 beads again and thread back through the next spacer bead at the top of the base of the chain.
12. Keep repeating this pattern until you get back to the starting point of the chain.
13. When you get back to the starting point of the chain, attach the wire to the jumpring. Tie the end of the wire securely to the jumpring or use a pinch bead. For extra strength, add a drop of glue.
14. Cut off the excess wire once the glue has dried.
15. Have fun with your new handmade Tourmaline necklace :)\
Bracelet
1. Cut three pieces of 0.6mm copper wire, each about 15 cm longer than the desired length of the bracelet. These pieces will form the base wires of your bracelet.
2. Cut a longer piece of the copper wire, which will be used to secure the beads and wrap the wires.
3. Lay the three pieces of wire side by side. Leave a few inches on one end for attaching the clasp.
4. Take the copper wire and start wrapping a few inches from the end of the three base wires. Wrap the wire tightly around all three wires together from about 1 cm, keeping them together.
5. Thread a 6mm Tourmaline bead onto the center wire. Then wrap the wire tightly around the center wire so that the bead is firmly in place.
6. Repeat on the other side of the bead.
7. After securing the first bead, lightly bend the three wires into a braid pattern.
8. Add a second bead as in step 3, placing it in the same way. Continue braiding the wires, adding a new bead after every few braiding movements.
9. Continue threading the beads and braiding the threads until you reach the desired length for the bracelet.
10. When you have reached the desired length, wrap the remaining threads tightly around the center wire as you did at the beginning.
11. Cut off the excess wire and make sure the ends are secure and do not stick out.
12. Take the ends of the three copper wires and bend them into a small loop with round-head pliers. Attach a jumpring through the loop and connect it with a carabiner.
Tip
If desired, you can polish or patina the copper wire to create an antique look.
Earrings
1. Start by cutting approximately 150cm of C-lon thread. Thread the wire through the needle and then we can start with the first flower. Thread 4 green Tourmaline beads and then 1 spacer bead onto the wire.
2. Now look at the picture explaining step by step what to do. Total you will need 3 flowers for each earring.
3. Repeat each step for each flower and slowly change color, top flower green decreasing to pink.
3. When you are done with the last flower, once again go back through 2 Tourmaline beads. Pass your needle under the C-lon between the beads and make 2 knots around this. Put some jewelry glue on this and hide the knot in a bead further.
4. Attach the glass charm by passing a jumpring through the last Tourmaline bead. Then attach the glass charm and close the jumpring.
5. Repeat these steps for the other earring.
6. Next, attach an earring stud through a jumpring to the top faceted bead and close the jumpring.
7. Your new Tourmaline earring studs are ready to shine!
Tips:
- Check that all pinch beads and staple pins are secure to prevent the beads from shifting or becoming loose.
- Use a bead design board or mat to place your beads on as you work so they don't roll away.
With these steps, you will create this stunning jewelry set made of beautiful Tourmaline that will shine with any outfit.
