Making a Stainless Steel Charm Bracelet with Glass- and Gemstone Beads
This bracelet is easy to make yourself with the wire wrapping technique. Because of our wide range of glass and gemstone beads, different color combinations are possible! Also nice to make a set with a matching necklace, click here for the tutorial.
For the bracelet use approx. 15cm of the necklace chain (so you can make both the necklace and the bracelet with from 1 necklace chain). Use a stainless steel 4mm jumpring and attach the extension chain and lobster clasp to the bracelet. Now it's time to make the charms. Cut a piece of approx 3cm copper wire and thread a gemstone bead. Fold the copper wire in half with the bead in the fold. Then thread a glass bead over both ends of the copper wire. Now take the round nose pliers and hold both ends with them. With your other hand, fold the wire down and around itself. By holding the wire with the round pliers, an eye is created. Wrap the copper wire around until the piece between the eyelet and the bead is completely covered. If necessary, cut off the remaining piece and squeeze it flat against the wrapped piece, so it is no longer sharp. Attach the charm by using a 4mm jumpring in the middle of the bracelet. You will need this charm 3 times. For the second charm, string 3 gemstone beads and fold the copper wire in half. Now repeat the wrapping as described above. In total you need 4 of these charms.
To complete the bracelet, we will make 2 more charms. These will act as weights, so the bracelet will twist less during wear. Make 1 more charm with gemstone beads as described above. The charm with the glass bead we make slightly longer. You do this by cutting about 5cm of copper wire. When you have strung the beads as described above, place the round nose pliers a little further away from the beads (leave about 1cm between the bead and the round nose pliers). Now wrap again as described above, until the piece is covered. Now use 1 stainless steel 4mm jumpring to attach the 2 charms to the extension chain.
The bracelet is now finished and ready to be worn!
