How to make Earrings with Shell and Freshwater Pearl Beads
These earrings can be made in a variety of colors through our assortment of shell beads. Different techniques are incorporated, but they are all doable (even for beginners)!
Start by cutting off 9, 10 and 6 links from the 2mm chain (so 3 pieces total). Next, cut off the head of the stainless steel headpin and turn an eye. Then thread a freshwater pearl and cut off the other end so you have about 1cm left to turn an eyelet. Repeat again for the 2nd pearl bead. Open the eyelet and hook the piece of 9 links to it. Open the other eye and hook the piece with 10 links to it. Open the eye of the 2nd pearl and hook the other end of the 10 link piece to it. Open the other eye and hook the last piece of 6 links to this. Slide the upper 2 links of the piece of 9 links into the end cap. If necessary you can close the end cap a little better, when this piece falls out.
For the 2nd row we use the Designer Quality ball chain of 2mm. Cut a piece of 25 beads and slide the first bead into the end cap.
The 3rd row we make with the shell beads. Cut a piece of nylon thread of approx. 20cm. Thread a stainless steel spacer bead and fold the wire in half. Make sure both ends are the same length and thread a shell bead over both ends. Now thread another stainless steel spacer bead and another shell bead. Repeat until you have strung 4 shell beads. Now thread another spacer bead and a 2mm crimp bead. Pinch the crimp bead and slide the last spacer bead with the pinch bead into the end cap.
The middle row goes as follows: cut 7 links off the 2mm link chain. Attach a 4mm jumpring to this piece of chain and hang an eye connector and a drop charm to it. Close the 4mm jumpring and cut off 5 links. Attach a 4mm jumpring to both sides. 1 side you attach to the 1st connector and the other side attach to a new connector, again attach a drop charm. Put the first 2 links in the end cap.
Repeat the 1st to the 3rd row again and close the end cap. Open the ring of the earring hook and attach it to the end cap. Repeat for the 2nd earring and then your earring pair is done!
