How to make Vintage Purple Earrings with Faceted beads

You can easily make these classy earrings yourself! Would you prefer a different color? Then take a look at our range of faceted beads. 

Start by cutting off about 5cm of copper wire and twist an eye at one end. Then thread 2 purple faceted beads, 1 crystal shine faceted bead and 2 more purple faceted beads. Now turn an eyelet on the other side and make sure there is a little space between the beads. 

Now cut a piece of copper wire of about 4cm (2 eyelets and 5 purple faceted beads should fit on it). Bend the wire into a u-shape, leaving 1 faceted bead in the middle. Now turn an eyelet on each side, making sure the opening is on the same side. Open the eyelet slightly and hook it around the 1st thread. Hook one eyelet on the left side of the crystal shine faceted bead and hook the 2nd eyelet on the right side. Pinch both eyelets closed with flat nose pliers. Now the 1st row is finished.        

Cut a piece of about 9cm (9 purple faceted beads should fit). Again, make an eye on both ends. Pinch these in a u-shape and open the eyes a little. Again, crochet these around the 1st thread. Crochet this row between the 2 purple faceted beads from the beginning thread. Pinch the eyes closed again and the 2nd row is finished. 

The 3rd row is actually the same, you now use a piece of wire of ca.13cm (13 purple faceted beads go around this). Thread the faceted beads and turn an eye on both ends. Bend the piece again in a U-shape and open the eyes a little. Hook these eyelets, to the eyelets of the 1st thread. Pinch it closed again and the last row is also finished!

Open the eyelets of the 1st thread and hook the 1st link of the extension chain in it. Cut open the 9th link so you have 2 pieces of 8 links left. Hook the other piece to the other eye and use a 4mm stainless steel jumpring, to attach the hook to both ends of the extension chain. And then your earring is ready!
