Step-By-Step
Necklace
1. Place the beads in the desired order on a beading board or a (tea) cloth. Play with the order until you are happy with the design or take inspiration from the design above :)
2. Cut a piece of nylon wire slightly longer than the desired length of your necklace and thread a pinch bead onto the wire, followed by a jumpring. Thread the Nylon wire back into the pinch bead as a loop, then gently pinch the pinch bead closed with flatbed pliers. Make sure the pinch bead is squeezed tightly and the Nylon wire cannot come loose.
3. Thread the beads in the chosen order according to your brilliant design onto the nylon wire.
4. when you have threaded all the beads, thread another pinch bead and a jumpring. Again use the flatbed pliers to pinch the pinch bead closed and cut off the excess nylon wire.
5. Open the jumpring on one side of the chain and attach a clasp to it.
6. Use a jumpring on the charm of your choice and attach it to the center of your chain by gently closing the jumpring with your flatbed pliers.
Tip:
The video below explains in detail how to finish a necklace or bracelet!
Bracelet
1. Cut a piece of S-Lon wire two times longer than the desired length of your bracelet, plus extra for tying.
2. Thread a needle onto the thread, keeping in mind that your needle will fit through your beads.
3. Thread four beads onto the wire, followed by a spacer bead.
4. Repeat this pattern (four beads, one spacer bead) until you reach the desired length of your bracelet to fit the circumference of your wrist.
5. Use the needle to thread back through each spacer bead and the four corresponding beads.
6. Continue this pattern until you get back to the beginning of your bracelet.
7. Make sure the pattern is tight and secure by pulling any loose pieces of thread tight.
8. Make a firm knot at the end of the bracelet, use a drop of jewelry glue if necessary for extra strength.
9. Attach a lobster clasp to one side of the bracelet and a jumpring to the other side.
Handy! An image of the pattern for the bracelet is at the top of the inspiration set page!*
Earrings
1. Choose some jade gemstone beads, shell beads and faceted beads for each earring. Lay out the chandelier charms.
2. Take a staple and thread a combination of beads in a playful pattern. Using roundnosed pliers, bend the end of the staple pin into a loop to hold the beads in place.
3. Repeat this process for all five eyelets for each chandelier charm. I chose one unique staple in the center with a mint charm and a symmetrical pattern on the staples on the remaining four eyelets of the chandelier charm.
4. Use a jumpring to attach each of the strung staple pins to an eyelet of the chandelier charm. Close the jumpring securely with flatbed pliers.
5. Attach the chandelier charm to an earring hook. Repeat this process for the other earring.
Tips:
- Check that all pinch beads and staple pins are secure to prevent the beads from shifting or becoming loose.
- Use a bead design board or mat to place your beads on as you work so they don't roll away.
With these steps, you will create cool and elegant jade jewelry that will complete any outfit.
